Letter from Current Chair.
With the vision and guidance of our Founder, Anne Rouse Sudduth, the Seacoast Women's Giving Circle has grown and evolved dramatically since our inception in 2006. We are grateful for her leadership and commitment to fostering a sense of shared purpose within the group. Due to our involvement in the giving circle, we as members have become more engaged in our communities, educated about pressing local issues, and invested in helping local nonprofits serve the many needs of our region.
As the current Chair of Giving Circle, it is both a pleasure and an honor to work with this group of passionate women in our fifth giving cycle, and to continue the work that Anne began four years ago. I look forward to the continued energy of our members, all of whom embrace our process and are committed to each of the Learn, Give, and Act components. I have the utmost respect for the intelligence, skills, and diverse backgrounds that our members bring to their work in the Giving Circle; working alongside these women, and in collaboration with myriad community stakeholders and supporters, is an experience for which I am extremely grateful.
The Giving Circle recently launched our fifth giving cycle, focused on issues pertaining to seniors on the Seacoast. We are excited to educate ourselves about the many challenges facing this growing and vulnerable population. I know we will bring to this topic the same passion and depth of learning, giving and volunteering that have defined our past cycles. We are humbled by the opportunity before us to improve the quality of life in our communities, and delighted to join the nearly 600 giving circles making waves in philanthropy nationwide.
