Seacoast Women's Giving Circle Grant Program
2010 GRANT APPLICATION
The Seacoast Women’s Giving Circle is now seeking grant proposals from non-profit organizations that help women overcome obstacles to achieving economic security. The 2010 grant application form, which explains our process and priorities in more detail, can be downloaded here. We encourage you to share this document with organizations that might be interested in applying or to apply on behalf of your own organization as appropriate.
The key details are summarized below:
- Deadline: Electronic version of grant application must be emailed to info@seacoastwomengive.org by Friday, January 22, 2010
- Eligible organizations must provide services in some or all of the following Seacoast towns of NH and Maine: Seabrook, Hampton, Hampton Falls, North Hampton, Rye, Portsmouth, New Castle, and Kittery.
- To be eligible for the 2010 grant, organizations must address the issue and population selected by the Seacoast Women’s Giving Circle this giving cycle. We are seeking proposals that:
- Help single mothers and/or working mothers overcome obstacles to achieving economic security by addressing one or more of the following areas: childcare, job training and education, mental health support, domestic violence support and transportation.
- Proposals should be based on a projected grant of $20,000, although the amount of the grant varies annually based on the contributions of Giving Circle members.
The following organizations are generally NOT eligible for support:
- Religious or faith based programs or organizations
- Political organizations or programs
- Organizations that discriminate in any way
Our grant making priorities include:
- Improving quality of life on the Seacoast
- Serving the socio-economically underprivileged
- Fostering independence and self-reliance
- Addressing emerging needs and issues
- Providing long-term solutions
- Investing in the expansion of existing organizations rather than the creation of new ones
